Pool Area Patio Area Monet Lounge House and Lake Description Le Moulin de Malineau is in the south of the Charente-Maritime in Cognac country, the second sunniest area in France. We offer two comfortable 3 bedroomed Gites (Monet and Matisse) with full facilities, each accommodating up to 10 people. Within the 4 acres of tranquil landscaped gardens, including peach, cherry, apple and fig trees as well as many established shrubs, there is a large pond/lake stocked with Carp. Fishing rods are available. There is a small river frequented by the local kingfisher. Ample space for picnics and seclusion. There is an enclosed pool, in addition to a children's play area that includes swings, slide and sand pit. Each gite has an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen with shower room and WC downstairs. Matisse has a bedroom on the ground floor and has more flexibile accommodation for lower numbers of people. The lounge areas contain a SatelliteTV/DVD/CD along with a sofa bed (clic clac) and other seating. The well equipped kitchen areas contain oven, microwave, 50/50 fridge freezer and washing machine (compact washing machine in Matisse). Both gites have patios for outside dining overlooking the lake and gardens, and Matisse has a verandah overlooking the pool. All bed linen, tea towels and hand towels for kitchen and bathroom are provided. We live on site and will do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable. Because we have children ourselves we understand you may have special requirements such as baby baths, toys etc., and will endeavour to meet all requirements as we would want if we were away from home. Wine and pineau tasting at the local vineyards, where you can taste and buy. What more could you want in this totally relaxing environment, and I haven't even mentioned the buzzards, sparrowhawks, hen harriers, barn and tawny owls, bats, nightingales, spotted Genet and lizards. You won't be disappointed!
