GREAT SIGHT SEEING TRIPS. If you wish to go further afield, the Sierra de las Nieves national park is 30 minutes drive away. Here you can enjoy 4x4 jeep safaris, quad-biking fishing, shooting, mountain-biking, hill-walking and equestrian sports. Horse-racing is held weekly in high-season in La Cala de Mijas. Further east in Fuengirola there is an excellent aqua-park, aquarium, dolphin trips and shopping facilities in the new Parque Miramar complex of stores and cinemas. The Selwo safari park in Estepona, a half an hour's drive away is fun for children and their parents.

TO EXPERIENCE THE REAL SPAIN. You can visit Ojen, Istan,Casares, Gaucin and the famous Andalusian white villages, again just 20 minutes drive inland. In the winter you can ski on the Sierra Nevada in the morning and in the afternoon enjoy some sunbathing on the beach. It is only a three hours drive away. The old town of Malaga is worth a visit. The highlights include the Pablo Picasso museum. Take the road west towards Gibraltar to say hello to the barbary apes or catch a wave at Tarifa which with its spectacular sand-dunes and massive breakers is a paradise for surf-boarders.


GOLF INFORMATION. This is truly a golfers paradise! Not only is the property near to Santa Maria Golf Club, it is also within easy reach of the finest golf courses on the Costa del Sol. The climate and the long hours of sunshine provide a perfect opportunity in which to play golf. The long hours of sunshine has established the region as a firm favourite amongst golf aficionados. The fact that there are over three hundred days of sunshine each year is something useful to keep in mind when starting a round of eighteen holes. Fresh Atlantic winds, due to the proximity of the Straits of Gibraltar, mix with the mild Mediterranean winds and help to moderate the temperatures. All these factors contributed to the decisions to hold various European PGA tournaments here in the Costa del Sol. The courses and facilities are kept in immaculate condition throughout the whole year and are unaffected by the harsh northern continental winter. Valderrama was the first club in Europe to be permitted to hold the Ryder Cup outside of the UK. Golf enthusiasts of all skill levels will be able to find a complete variety of courses ranging from the technical and demanding, with challenging lakes and bunkers to the straightforward, with wide easy fairways.
