Finca Alboran lies in 3 acres of land with Olive trees, Almonds, Carobs, Figs and Oaks. Around the house are planted flowering shrubs, fruit trees, palms etc.
The surrounding fields are full of wildlife, with a huge variety of wild flowers in winter and Spring. It is the perfect place �to get away from it all�. Very private and peaceful, also an ideal base for day trips to places like Ronda, Granada, Jerez, Cadiz, Seville and the Atlantic coast.
This part of Andalucia is a paradise for walking, mountain-biking, exploring, riding and bird watching. It has beautiful views to the coast over miles of unspoilt countryside.
This spacious country house is situated 1KM below the village and is reached by car on an partly unmade track, the two steeper parts are surfaced now.
The centre of the house is a large living/dining room with a log burning Nordic stove (with glass doors) and full central heating in winter. For summer we have a large central ceiling fan in the living room with portable fans for the bedrooms.
There is a downstairs bathroom with bath/shower and WC. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, electric ceramic-glass cook-top, with electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, china, glasses and cutlery for eight people. There are plenty of saucepans, cooking gear and all the rest that make a house a home, including toys, games, and an interesting variety of books. An iron and ironing board are provided. Double doors leads to the covered terrace with barbecue, al fresco dining and sunbathing areas.
From the kitchen, a short corridor leads to the bedrooms, the lower of which has one double and two single beds. Double doors lead onto the terrace. Stairs lead up to a separate WC on the landing. The master bedroom has stunning views, a double bed and a bed for under fives (only on request). There is a I-pod docking station with radio/alarm clock. The en suite bathroom is fitted with double sinks, bath/shower, bidet and a heated towel rail. A hair-dryer is provided.
The property is supplied with mains water, 220 volt Electricity, piped Gas for heating and hot water.
The Satellite TV has all the UK Freesat channels including all BBC and ITV as well as Film 4, Sky news etc. There is a VCR and a choice of videos at the house too. We also have a DVD player and many good DVD�s. We�re rather short on children�s videos/DVD�s. We also have all the Spanish terrestrial channels.
We do make our telephone available for emergencies there is a good mobile reception too.
There is WiFi internet access (6MB) in the house and the outside patio. The Wifi can also be used for I-phones, I-pads and blackberries.
The cot and highchair are available on request, a small surcharge may apply depending on the size of your party.
Next to the main house is the original bread oven and beyond that is the charming small stone house next to the pool. This has a single bed and is an ideal spot for a siesta. The stone house is not available in low season.
We also have an out-door table tennis.
The pool is just a few meters away across the shaded patio with wonderful views to the south and west. The large private pool is gated. Around the pool are terraces on different levels, some shaded by olive and carob trees, others perfect for sun bathing. You�ll find deck chairs and outdoor furniture around the pool, as well as a couple of hammocks between the olive trees.
The pool has a length of 12 metres and a width of 5 metres (40� long 16� wide). At the deep end the pool is safe for diving with a depth of 2.5 meters to 1.4 metres at the shallow end ( 8.1� and 4.5 'shallow end) and may also be enjoyed at night with its underwater lighting.
Gaucin is a typical, unspoilt white village, with many food shops, a chemist, banks, bars and several restaurants. Overlooking the village are the ruins of a Moorish castle giving incomparable views over to the Mediterranean coast, North Africa and Gibraltar. Inland you see the state-owned cork forests which are a nature reserve. A paradise for walkers and bird-watchers.
The village has a public tennis court, a couple of riding schools are also found in the vicinity.
Throughout the year Gaucin has many fascinating fiestas, traditional Saints days and the �Semana-Santa� (holy-week) processions. In August Gaucin celebrates its �Feria� with fairground and dancing.
Nearby are many other beautiful towns and villages. The grandest is Ronda with its famous gorge and the oldest Bullring in Spain. A few kilometres down the Valley is the river Genal, a good spot for Fishing, swimming and exploring.
The Mediterranean beaches are half an hours drive away, while the Atlantic coast with its fine white sand and famous wind surfing is one and a half hours drive.
The arrival day is flexible in low season, arrival time is between 3-4pm. Departure time is 10-11am. The maid arrives at 10am both on change-over day and on mid-term cleaning day for rentals of 2 weeks.

We had a few days mountain biking with Rafa which was excellent - he was an exceptional guide and hired us some great bikes - so thank you for putting us in contact with him. We also spent a few days down at Costa de la Luz learning to windsurf with Club Mistral which we would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to do that in the future�.

�Finca Alboran is probably the closest place to heaven we�ve visited. The house is charming and comfortable, the pool and its surroundings are absolutely breathtaking.
I am almost embarrassed to confess that after our arrival , we left the house only twice to buy food on the market�.

We also appreciated the comprehensive kitchen equipment and cookery books. There were lots of simple things that you had thought of that really made the extra difference. �We can�t fault it, we�d really love to come back. With a 5 month old and a 2 � year old in tow we have not explored exhaustively but really enjoyed a trip to the castle and a trip to the sierra Grazalema and the pool obviously. Two weeks passed very quickly�.
