A stunning Regency two storey apartment , built in 1837, in the heart of Southwold, situated just three doors from the Crown Hotel. The accommodation comprises of an entrance hall with stairs leading to a spacious fully equipped handmade kitchen with breakfast bar, table and 4 chairs; this leads on to a small terrace. On the next floor there is a small conservatory and cloakroom/shower room; the next level takes you to an open plan landing/dining room with dining table seating up to eight people, this floor is a twin bedroom (with a single futon bed also), and a sumptuous lounge. On the second floor are two large bedroom suites both with ensuites and fantastic views over Southwold rooftops and clear views of the lighthouse.
The property is situated in the middle of South wold high street near to the many restaurants, individual shops, adams pubs, and of course the sea which is 2 minutes away. The golf course is a 10 minute walk
Rutland house was a large merchants house , until early in the 20th century, the downstairs was turned into 2 large shops leaving the upstairs as a 2 storey apartment , which is full of character, and has many of the original features including fireplaces panelled doors and pine floorboards , the property was refurbished to a high standard with over £120,000 spent on bringing it up to 21st century. About the area
Southwold has a wonderful atmosphere as all that have visited will know and once you have been you are sure to return , a day in Southwold can begin with a coffee in or outside the crown watching the world go by and after strolling around the many indivdual shops you can visit, one of the many original pubs serving Adnams beers and wines, before going for a walk along the beach to the harbour and catching the small ferry over to warbles wick and walking back over the common and warbleswick and walking back over the common and golf course back to the town. Dinner can be taken at one of the restaurants in the town with no need to drive or can be sourced at the black olive deli or one of the seafood stalls ; we always finish the day with a walk along the beach.
