The owners Andreas and Anna are great hosts and really provide a personal service to make sure that your holiday is truly special. An idealistic holiday retreat. Romios' house was built over three hundred years ago and has been traditionally renovated into five self contained fully equipped stone apartments with separate bedroom, kitchen and Lounge with all modern conveniences. There is a double sofa bed for additional people and a cot available for a baby if required. Popular with couples, groups, the elderly and families, it is the ideal place to stay where one can relax in the cool, bright, spacious home.The stone walls keep you cool in the summer and help keep the warmth in in the winter, there is hot and cold air conditioning throughout. All apartments have free wifi, relax in our large floral secluded yard with tables, chairs, loungers, shades and barbeque also some childrens toys. Swimming pool for customers a few minutes walk from the apartment. Wheel chair access. Pets are allowed on request.
The village has many places to visit including the square where you will find traditional, shops, cafes, taverna's etc. The village used to be a major coal mining village and you can still see the little train with track and mines. Kalavasos Dam is the second largest on the island and is great for sunbathing and picnics or stay to watch amazing views and colours during sunset.For the health conscious there is a wellness centre in the village, and for a real rural experience join us for seasonal fruit and olive picking in our orchard, or visit the local old lady up the mountain to see how halloumi cheese is made. Local bike and car hire is available and can be arranged on request. The beach is only five minutes drive from the village, and also there are many activities locally you can, enjoy including camel parks, horse riding, nature trails, golf, fishing and Archeological Neolithic sites dating back to 900 bc.
Kalavasos is Centrally located, so it is great for access to all the island for night life, sight seeing, festivals, outdoor theatre, arts and our award winning beaches.
