Al Qalat is a luxury 3 bedroom penthouse on two floors equipped to a high standard with fabulous views over the exclusive Marina Del Este and Almunecar Bay.
From the two large terraces you can sip your drink or eat al freso while watching the boats leave the Marina or spotting Dolphins playing off the coast.
The apartment comprises a luxury kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave etc, a large lounge/diner, 2 twin bedrooms and one double and two bathrooms. Air conditioning/heating throughout.
The downstairs terrace has a dining table and chairs, and the large upstairs terrace has sunloungers, table and chairs and sun umbrella.
There is parking to the front of the apartment or a designated space in an underground car park with lift access to the apartment.
There are two communal swimming pools. The Marina with it's bistro/restaurants and the beach are ten minutes walk.
Sheets, bathroom towels and cleaning is included and a welcome basket provided. Extensive dvd library, books and satellite tv channels (all ITV, BBC and many more English channels plus foreign channels) all available to guests, as is high speed internet access. Flat screen TV in lounge, tv/video in twin bedroom (no satellite), great for keeping the kids occupied!
Unusually for an apartment the terraces are not overlooked and do not overlook any other terraces in the same block. They are very private, topping up the all over tan is a definite option !
Two minutes walk away is a 4 star hotel with spa wellness centre, all treatments available to non-residents.

But thank you very much for letting us use your wonderful apartment. It really was something special and the views out across the bay added great interest. Roughly 45 minutes from Malaga airport and 1 hour from Granada airport, Marina Del Este lies round the headland from La Herradura, the principal tourist town (though very Spanish in feel and unspoilt) on a part of the southern coast of Andalucia, known as the Costa Tropical, in the province of Granada.
The Costa Tropical runs from Nerja to Motril and is characterised by rugged cliffs falling to the sea and a sub-tropical climate making it an all year resort with an average of 18C in the winter and 28C in the summer. The area is the most beautiful and sunniest in Spain.
It is ideally located being only 1 hour from Granada and the Alhambra and the ski-ing resorts of the Sierra Nevada.
Boats can be chartered from The Marina Del Este. Day trips can be organised around the coast with a photo stop at a remote beach for snorkelling and refreshments. There are many tennis courts where visitors can play. These can be booked in advance and are inexpensive.
Three golf courses are within easy reach of La Herradura. These are not championship courses but are located in beautiful surroundings and are substantially cheaper than some of the more prestigious courses around Marbella. A typical example is Campo De Golf at Salobrena. This is a 15 minute drive and is located on the beach. The club house, restaurant and bar are all newly built. The course is 2 x 9 holes . The green fees are 22 Euros (£12.50).
For the family who would like to play a couple of rounds of golf while on holiday this is highly recommended. There are many local scuba diving centres, two in the Marina alone.
